Autumn's Harvest Blog Hop

Autumn's Harvest Blog Hop

What do I love about the fall?

You mean aside from the tang in the air, the crisp snap of Cortlandt, Rome and Macintosh apples, the cozy nights?

Oh, honey, that's simple. It gives me the perfect excuse to indulge in one of my favorites: Howdy, Pilgrim Cornbread Puddin', an easy-peasy, but delish recipe!

HOWDY PILGRIM CORNBREAD PUDDIN'

1 can creamed corn
1 can kernel corn
1 c. sour cream (8 oz.)
3 beaten eggs
1 stick butter (or margarine)
1 box Jiffy corn muffin mix

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease oven-proof casserole dish. Supposed to be 1-1/2 qts, but the one I used in the picure abve is 2 qts and it's okay.

You can simply smoosh everything together in a mixing bowl, pour into the oven-proof dish and bake.

If you're more finicky, you can do it this way:

Pour butter and corn into mixing bowl (or the casserole you'll bake it in; it doesn't really matter, unless neatness counts!)

Blend in sour cream.

In separate bowl, beat eggs and stir into corn mixture. Add muffin mix and mix.

Bake 1 hour (or less) at 350.°

Don't burn it. Keep checking. It's better moist and creamy inside, golden brown, with slight crust on top. It's done when the center is firm and a knife or toothpick comes out more or less clean.

What else do I love about autumn? I love how spooky and shadowy everything turns when darkness descends and those sexy mystical currents swirl through the air. As they do in Sleepy Hollow, the setting for THUNDER and LIGHTNING, my two new hot 1Night Stand paranormals from Decadent Publishing, and SLEEPY HOLLOW DREAMS, my erotic paranormal from The Wild Rose Press.
Here's the blurb from THUNDER:
Lonely young witch, Veronica Hardwicke, has struggled to get on with her life after the death of the elderly husband who’d left her a fortune and a sprawling estate in mystical Sleepy Hollow. When frightening things go bump in the night on a stormy Fourth of July, who better to call than the sexy developer and contractor, Sean Jones, who's been renovating her mansion for months?
Sean may grace the tabloid pages with a different supermodel on his arm every night, but it's Veronica who drives him nuts. Ignoring his instinct to stay away, he answers her summons.
Will the thundering passion of their 1Night Stand tear down the barriers between them?

Here's the blurb from LIGHTNING:

In mystic Sleepy Hollow, succubus Lily Night put her prom date, Campbell Jones, into a coma after a night of wild, unbridled sex. She has steered clear of mortals ever since, afraid of damaging them or worse, not to mention the inconvenience of knocking out the power every time they have sex.
Successful architect Campbell Jones has lived with strange powers and a sexy secret since that prom night. He’s buried himself in work to forget the woman who’d dumped him at the ER then vanished from his life without a trace.
Neither Lily nor Campbell have forgotten that night or the love they’d shared. Will a 1Night Stand help them bury their past?

We do a version of bread pudding that is a pineapple bread pudding, but ours is gluten and dairy free. Yours sounds yummy, but my extremely allergic son would boycott me if I made deliciousness he couldn't partake of.

I'm not so crazy about the day getting dark so early, but I love the rest!

Carla:
Oh, so sorry about your son. Your pineapple bread pudding sounds scrumptious, gluten free or not!

Susan: I agree! I love apples. So much that in Sleepy Hollow Dreams, that was the hero's signature scent!

Laurie -- The leaves ARE gorgeous. But here on the east coast the storms have blown many of them bare!

Veronika -- Thanks for coming by. The heroine of Thunder is named "Veronica"!

I love the burst of colors! The fall earth tone colors are very festive and beautiful. I am lucky to live where you can see the seasons change.

I love reading any time so the season doesn’t matter.

Thanks for the opportunity for both of us to meet and to share.

I love fall baking! Pies, autumn squash, all sorts of yumminess. I've never tried corn puddin, but this does sound good. And of course, I must have a book to read while baking, though I've learned from experience that I must set the timer so I don't get lost in a book and look up to find smoke and a charred pie.

I love everything about Fall--the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and touch (of the cool air). I especially love that the tourists are gone from my area, the lovely deserted beaches, and "sweater weather." I am the queen of sweater twin sets!
