BLURB:
Sent into the human realm to retrieve prodigal princess, Zena Night, Bhyrne Raines is shocked and unprepared for his carnal reaction to the sexy succubus. In service to the succubus queen, the rugged enforcer must stifle the instant passion exploding within him. Fulfilling his royal duty doesn’t allow for quickie dalliances. His biological clock is ticking, and he begins to enter breedspawn, an intense and unstoppable frenzy of mating all fire-demon males must endure. But the more he wants to avoid Zena, the more he’s drawn to her.
Reluctant to give up her carefree life of partying among the mortals when the hot-as-sin Bhyrne comes to fetch her for the queen, Zena uses her succubus wiles to entice him, or at least delay the inevitable trip to the royal court. Once in the demon stronghold, hidden deep within the Catskill mountains, she learns the reason for the summons: she must choose a consort within two days.
Zena needs a mate. Bhyrne needs to mate. With time running out for both of them, they each turn to 1Night Stand. With time running out, can Madame Eve come to the rescue?
 EXCERPT:
Holy freeze gun, Batman. The words died before she managed to expose them to air. Her mouth snapped shut.
One of the Queen’s guards stood before her, huge and tall, nearly twice the size of most of the other males in the joint, a hella hunka supernatural male. Clearly not human, although Hugo Boss’d to his Adam’s apple in an apparent bid to fit in among the humans trolling for hot sex, illicit drugs, watered-down booze and loud music. Beneath the fabric of the unstructured designer suit, the toned muscles of a demonic warrior rolled like tidal waves. Even without the small lapel pin the uninformed might mistake for the The Rolling Stones’ logo, she’d recognize him for a captain of the guard. Maybe the Queen’s own Captain.
Hellfire and cotton candy. Trouble. T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
But, by the goddess, whattahottie! Despite her certainty that his presence in the club corridor boded ill for her, the force of her sudden hunger shook her.
Like lightning.
Thunder.
A desperate bolt out of the blue.
Instant connection to him on the paranormal plane, as if he’d wrapped her aura in gold chains and tugged her to him. But did that fast lane to heaven run one way or two?
A grim expression straightened the lines of what otherwise might have been a generous, sensuous mouth. A military buzz cut had weed-whacked hair the color of iron. And it didn’t stop there. Without doubt, metal fortified every single cell in the massive male’s body, pure titanium flowing in his veins. The stern planes and angles of a hard-edged, swoon-worthy face set grimly as cement. Though he lounged in the hallway like any Archie or Jughead waiting in line to discharge his rented beer in a urinal, he exuded authority, his carriage and bearing such that he made the others look like a pack of Twizzlers. Oh. Yeah. More than a mere guardsman, she guessed. An enforcer.
Ruh-roh.

REVIEWS:

5 stars from Reviewing Vixens:

"Heat Wave by Taryn Kincaid is this author’s fourth installment in the Sleepy Hollow series as well as a new and exciting addition to the 1Night Stand series. As is traditional it’s short, hot and leaves you wanting for more as you desperately fan yourself in vain hope of lowering your body temperature.

Zena Night is a succubus, doing what a succubus does and doing it very well, if she does say so herself. But, ever since her sisters have mated, she’s noticed a distinct lacking within her own life. Enter the Queen’s lackey, a lot of hot, sexy and drop dead gorgeous all in one package. Sadly he’s only there to ferry her off to the Queen’s court for something she’s very sure will not be a feel good time.

Bhryne Raines, cousin to artist Maxwell Raines who just so happens to be mated to Zena’s sister Dagney, is on a mission for the Queen. The timing though could have been better. He’s got trouble on the horizon and it only gets worse while in the presence of the sultry succubus. Now if he can only keep his cool, in more ways than one, he might just get what he wants from the entire deal.

The heat rises quickly in this book as Zena and Bhyrne are thrown together. Hormones run rampant, need is in the air and you can all but feel the tension seeping from the pages of this story. The author has written another amazing addition to her Sleepy Hollow series that hits all the points in this reviewer’s checklist. Only advice I’m going to give, get it before these two go up in flames!"

5 stars from Kelly of Reading the Paranormal:

"This book is SCORCHING HOT! Don't get me wrong, the other books in this series were delicious, but Taryn Kincaid turned up the heat in a BIG WAY for Zena and Bhyrne's story. *fans self*

Honestly, both Zena and Bhyrne are in tough situations. Zena needs to fulfill her royal duty and find a mate and Bhyrne is having his man-time. That doesn't sound right. He's having his man mating time. No, still not right. He's in heat and he needs to find the right person to mate with. THAT! Good thing Madame Eve is on hand to make sure these two do the right thing and hook up.
...
Sexy as hell and hot enough to melt your panties. You know, I kinda love the supernaturals who live in Sleepy Hollow. They're full of sass and sexy times. I LIKE BOTH THOSE THINGS!"

"Madame Eve strikes again!

Decadent Publishing’s 1 Night Stand (1NS) series is my go-to for quick, sexy reads.

This story is smokin’ HOT!! The book is aptly named and I cannot believe that I have not discovered Taryn Kincaid before!

I loved the author’s use of popular slang in the vernacular. I absolutely adored Zena! Her witty dialogue had me laughing out loud!

“Still, she didn’t relish getting sluttified and tagged by a double standard that applauded man-whores for their manic sexual escapades, while whamming her with the bitch slapdown.” – Well said Zena!

Bhyrne Raines definitely lives up to his name! This demon is all kinds of sexy! I thought his level-headed demeanor as the Queen’s enforcer was balanced beautifully by the crazy, out-of-control succubus! I was so glad Madame Eve paired these two up because their coupling was explosive! I loved the characters, I loved it all!

Taryn had me at hellfire and cotton candy! I highly recommend this series to everyone!"

"A" from Smitten with Reading:

Whoa...what a way to start a book. Zena is a succubus and she starts out the book doing what she does best...pleasuring a stranger. Bhyrne has been sent to bring her back to the queen, but he has a small problem...he's going into Breedheat which makes him seriously horny, but even without that he'd have a really hard time resisting the pull to Zena. They have instant, amazing chemistry that they are both feeling.

Loved, loved, LOVED this book! Omg, it was sexy. Bhyrne is in such a bad way, but he has an iron will which is really impressive considering who he's dealing with. The story was great. I liked every single bit of Bhyrne and how protective he is of Zena even though he's the one in charge of making sure that she gets to the Queen's place. Once he gets her there, he backs her up, even at a great risk to himself.
It was just a pure smexy story and has definitely been my favorite of the series. Highly recommend! ~ Christi Snow

4.5 spiders from Close Encounters with the Night Kind:

Well demons and Madam Eve's One Night Stand Series?  What a perfect combination for a before bedtime read!  Bhyrne is sent on the distasteful task of fetching a royal succubus home for the queen.  This stoically HOT enforcer has a body built for sin and Zena is licking her lips about the prospect.   But time is short for both of our sexy demons.  Can Madame Eve pull off the One Night Stand that might save them both?  This was a great short, creative little story that was infused with the author's unique quirky humor.  She brings a smile, even while she's heating it up in the bedroom!!

5 pitchforks from Tera, Queen of the Succubi:

"We first met Zena in the first work of this series Lightning along with her two Succubus sisters. When she appeared there, there was something different about her compared with her two sisters. She was really not exactly like them and was referred to as the “older sister.” She was, as well, very much acting like a Succubus and in the short scene she appeared in, really only seemed to care about finding a partner for sex… before finding another one. I was wondering at the time if that meant something more, and I found quite a lot of my questions about Zena answered in this work.

Initially she is very much a Succubus that cares only about being a “wild child” and really not much else. It comes to pass, as this story unfolds, that there is quite a lot more to her which made her as interesting as, if not more, than her sisters were to me. Part of that is her connection to the Succubus Queen of this series, Velda, which was something that I did not expect to be honest. Some of that is her internal voice, which compared to her sisters is very clear and truly different. She can be manipulative and demanding at times, but it is what happens when Bhyrne appears that caught me. Her feelings, thoughts and actions, all that she thought were her power… don’t quite work as she expects. But then again, Bhyrne isn’t what she was expecting either.

Bhyrne, who’s connection to another character in the series is perfect I think, is a wonderful example of someone that can, and does, go toe to toe with Zena in spite of the problems he has at that moment and his history. I respect characters that have a sense of honour and Bhyrne has that many times over. It is the repartee between him and Zena that just felt right. It was teasing in the right way, hot at the right moment, and at the same time you saw within them their own faults and fears tugging them here and there.

At the edges of this story is another one, lightly touched on of the world that Zena is a part of and the Queen of the demon realm Velda. I would have liked to know more about her, how she is different from her sister, whom she took the place of. I would have liked to know how it was that Zena was allowed to be “adopted” into the Night family and become one of the sisters. I would have liked to know more about Zena’s mother, her father… really much of that world is cloaked in shadow and hints, but not brought into focus.

I do realize that this work is erotica, but here’s the thing, within the erotica is a larger, powerful story I think and we have the hints of it in the Sleepy Hallow series when each sister appears. There is a world with stories that I would love to know the answers for. I’ll just reveal two of them. One, why is it so odd for roses to be present in the demon realm? What was it that forced, or otherwise demanded that Zena leave and be the wild Succubus she was? I have my thoughts, but it would be nice to know… Along with about a dozen other questions I have, but then I do tend to over think some story universes at times…

Then there is the question of Madame Eve… I know, I do, that she is a creation used to connect stories together in the 1NightStand universe but here’s the thing… I can see her being a Succubus, though not an “evil” one because none of the Night sisters are evil. I know that story can never be answered truly, but really considering what she arranges and how? It really would not surprise me in the slightest…

I smiled, quite a lot, at all of the hardware store references at the beginning of the story, it was just silly enough and felt right coming from Zena and Bhyrne. The ways that their reactions to each other were described, from the first moment, there was an instant connection, but over time it was more than that.

When the climax of the story came, and my did it ever do so, what Zena felt on her way through the castle had the right heat, the right emotion and more. When she and Bhyrne saw each other, his reaction, her needs and his… That was squirmingly hot and the picture I had in my thoughts was delicious…

As the cap to the series so far, it felt right, it ended on the right note, and it was, really, overall a beautiful work of Succubus erotica. I have but one little nit with the work… I really would have liked to see what comes in the after. There is a hint, an idea, but it isn’t told and I found myself wanting to know that…

I can hope for another work in the series can’t I?

I’m giving this work five out of five pitchforks.

Oh I do want more from this universe and these three sisters, so very much so. What happens to Zena and Bhyrne when the story ends will be in the back of my mind for a very long time to come. There is a huge universe of stories to play in and perhaps someday that time will come…
It would be wonderful if it did." ~ Tera

A "Rose that Rules All" from Shyla at Romancing the Book:

Can I just start off by saying this story was aptly named?  * fans face* Smoke rose from the pages starting with the first paragraph!
These characters burst off the pages and the connection between them is flammable with a capital F! While this is a part of a series it easily stands alone. I highly recommend it.
