Six Sentence Sunday

I bow to the will of the people. Or, at least to the majority vote of the three Dream Voyagers commenters who left hanging chads in favor of a Six Sentence Sunday snippet from the historical over the erotic paranormal.

Which makes me sniff a little on behalf of Sleepy Hollow Dreams.
(It's okay, Ryck and Katy. I still love you. Especially you, Ryck!)

(I could be wrong, but I think some of you just liked looking at the picture of Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen in Pride & Prejudice.)

So, not that this is a true democracy, or that I was soliciting votes in the last blog post or anything like that...here's another picture of Elizabeth Bennett and Darcy for you.
Oh, yeah.  And six sentences for Six Sentence Sunday from Healing Hearts, my Regency romance (coming next year from Carina Press):

Swathed in her cloak, she gazed at him with fierce fire burning in her eyes, as long tendrils of wine-red hair escaped her hood and slashed her cheeks.

“Why have you come, Riverton?”

Her tone could have peeled the rind from a lemon. He was not accustomed to such address; even during the war men had leaped to obey his barked commands. This young woman, such a study in contrasts, baffled him. His nostrils flared, like those of a beast aroused by its mate.

Love it....but still not a fan of six sentance Sunday.

"Could have peeled the rind from a lemon" LMAO! You've gotta love that!

I agree with Dee. That's a classic line!

Thanks for dropping by, ladies! I loved all your Six Sunday snippets this week!

Jeez, Louise, Wendy.

Is there nosatisfying you?

Am I going to have to go back to Lara & Cole and their romantic suspense?? Come to think of it, I think they were rolling around in and out of hot tubs and spa robes when I last left them.

Back before all this other madness started.

May have to go there. Soon.

Absolutely delicious and always well written. I have finally started looking forward to Sundays. Will post mine soon!

Go for it, Jen!

Look not at the vote as a repudiation of erotic paranormal, but rather as desire to have a taste of Regency romance.

Looking forward to reading both in full.

Six sentences are just not long enough. How about twelve sentence Tuesday or thirty sentence Thursday, or forty sentance Friday. I think those lengths may work better for me!

Thanks, Rosa! (Er, Bets.) I am immediately adopting your way of looking at it.

Hope you'll like 'em. (I'm no Michael Chabon or Barbara Kingsolver or even Nora, but I'm not exactly Lary Crews, either!)

Well, there is a Two-Sentence Tuesday, but I doubt you'll like that better. You can check it out on Tuesdays at Women of Mystery: http://www.womenofmystery.net

As for 30-Sentence Thursday...great idea. You start!

Like these sentences. I would have participated but couldn't email the person. The entire email wanted me to change my way of writing emails. Not my idea of fun.

Janet...there seems to be some confusion here. All you have to do is post 6 sentences on your OWN blog. That's it. Finished. The End. Anyone can do that.
If you want to have a link to your blog on the site, you send your blog address to the email address listed. You do not have to change anything about the way you send emails.
It's really not rocket science, people.
