1Night Stands, By Jones!

Happy Black Friday, everyone! And welcome to my stop on the Decadent Publishing Authors Black Friday Blog Hop!

Lily, the love of Campbell's life, is a succubus, with two off-the-wall succubi sisters, Dagney and Zena, who stand at different points on the demonic table. While Lily is close to "zero" as demons go, Zena is off the freakin' paranormal promiscuity charts.

Sean's squeeze, Veronica Hardwicke, is a witch. She may have some witchy cronies. She has a will o'the wisp friend named Genevieve.

Six Sentence Sunday 11-18-12

This Sunday's six are from a WIP I'm playing around with, tentatively titled FROST.  Hoping it'll turn into my third 1Night Stand story for Decadent Publishing, following LIGHTNING and THUNDER. Stay tuned.

A gust swirled the tails of Raines' paint-spattered linen shirt, the sleeves rolled up to reveal his biceps, as if it were the dog days of August, not the chill gloom of February.

“You must come in, sir--the wind’s kicking up and you haven’t eaten in two days.”

Raines tossed his brush, the bristles slathered with Mars Black, onto the palette in irritation with himself and his absent muse.

The unfinished landscape was all that stood between the ravening beast pacing with increasing agitation inside him and the rest of the world.  Hot with fever, his rising temperature bursting through the fuckin' stratosphere--and his muse had deserted him.

You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille.

Autumn's Harvest Blog Hop

What do I love about the fall?

You mean aside from the tang in the air, the crisp snap of Cortlandt, Rome and Macintosh apples, the cozy nights?


Oh, honey, that's simple. It gives me the perfect excuse to indulge in one of my favorites: Howdy, Pilgrim Cornbread Puddin', an easy-peasy, but delish recipe!

HOWDY PILGRIM CORNBREAD PUDDIN'

1 can creamed corn
1 can kernel corn
1 c. sour cream (8 oz.)
3 beaten eggs
1 stick butter (or margarine)
1 box Jiffy corn muffin mix

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease oven-proof casserole dish. Supposed to be 1-1/2 qts, but the one I used in the picure abve is 2 qts and it's okay.

You can simply smoosh everything together in a mixing bowl, pour into the oven-proof dish and bake.

If you're more finicky, you can do it this way:

Pour butter and corn into mixing bowl (or the casserole you'll bake it in; it doesn't really matter, unless neatness counts!)

Blend in sour cream.

In separate bowl, beat eggs and stir into corn mixture. Add muffin mix and mix.

Bake 1 hour (or less) at 350.°

Don't burn it. Keep checking. It's better moist and creamy inside, golden brown, with slight crust on top. It's done when the center is firm and a knife or toothpick comes out more or less clean.

What else do I love about autumn? I love how spooky and shadowy everything turns when darkness descends and those sexy mystical currents swirl through the air.
