Six Sentence Sunday 8/21/2011

Mia tapped the computer to call up Surfer Dude's medical history. Too many entries she could not access at her clearance level. He might be Lord of the Deep, but a spurt of unease hit her gut like a bad clam.
“When was your last blood test?”
“Maybe six months ago,” he said and held up a hand to cut off her sputter. "Haven't been with a nymph since."

So he is in serious need of a little 'spurt'ing of his own.

Hmmm...medical entries that were not at her clearance level and no nymphs for six month - lots of intriguing questions in six

"a spurt of unease hit her gut like a bad clam" - Wow! That's probably one of the best phrases I've read in a while.

Core blimey -- Surfer Dude, Lord of the Deep AND Sexy Beast!! *drools at the piccie*

I love Surfer Dude, and I'm waiting (not so patiently) to read the full story. Six Sunday has a lot to answer to LOL -- but in a good way :)

Just...darn it. Another excellent six that makes me want to buy the book yesterday.

Lots of intriguing questions from this six - why too many entries? why the unease? why the 6 months without a nymph? You've drawn me in to this story!

Loved your six but honestly it was hard to concentrate with that gorgeous man staring out at me (well it was me in my dreams). I can't wait to see what develops.

A lot of intriguing questions arise in my mind. Did he mean nymph as in woman or a paranormal nymph? Hmm. You had me at the clam line.

Awesome six! It makes the reader ask all the right questions and drives them just crazy enough to make them do anything to get their hands on more of this story. Good work.

Well, any man who can resist nymphs for months is a hero in my book.

I'm thinkin' I'm missin' some backstory to truly understand but the 'nymph' part has me intrigued. :)

Interesting sentences. Enjoying this story as I did before. Janet who for some reason is rejected for comments here.

Taryn Kincaid said...

Janet, of course you are not rejected! Select "Google Account" under "Comment as." You may have to sign in to your own blogger account, that's all. And you may have to click it a couple of times. Happens to me on blogger all the time!

Boy, was he ever quick with the "no nymphs" line! But I hope he's not ill. Nothing worse than the Lord of the Deep a little green around the gills. LOL

E. P. Beaumont said...

I think that the thing that makes this is the offhand, casual way he reports "no nymphs"... it's ordinary to him, right? and of course there's all sorts of everything-else going on in the background; you've packed a lot in here.

No Nymphs! Poor surfer dude. LOL.

UGH - Couldn't post with Google account - signed in but it's not "sticking".

1000th.monkey said...

Sounds like the guy has quite the history ;) ...probably more than his medical records could tell her even IF she had clearance.

...and that is hilarious that you've got clams in your SSS submission this week too :)
