Six Sentence Sunday 9/4/11

Surfer Dude shrugged out of his evening jacket and draped the garment across the back of a chair.

Turning to her with the toothy smile of a rogue shark sighting dinner, he loosened his tie and began popping the black pearl studs that split his chest and drew the eye to his attention-grabbing torso.

She hadn’t asked him to -- all she'd had in mind was examining the tension in his neck and shoulder muscles -- but she wasn’t about to stop him.

When he peeled off his crisp linen dress shirt, she sucked in a sharp breath and her legs turned to water, the blood racing through them boiling like the stygian rivers in his brother's underworld realm.

Holy sea cow. Was he ever ripped.

Like the voice. Like the idea of being an employee at a hotel servicing Poseidon. It's a nice modern update on a pantheon that was always very close to humanity :)

Damn. I'm in love with this dude already.

Taryn Kincaid said...

Oh, okay. A little back story, since there seems to be a misconception. Mia is not an employee of a hotel servicing Poseidon. She's a nymph researcher/marine biologist with a Ph.d. She's filling in for her sister, Leticia, a nymph-nurse who's generally stationed at the Sky Palace Spa Bay, which is a combination spa and medical facility in the Sky Palace. Surfer Dude's younger brother, Cloud Boy, is throwing a ball in honor of his older brother, Reaper. (The reason for the ball and the honoree may change.) Leticia's gone to the ball. Surfer Dude comes to Spa Bay for some relief for his raging headache, brought on by tension and lack of sleep...he's been up nights because someone's been stealing rare amethyst coral from his realm...
